MEET THE BAND
CALLY COLE
Lead Singer & Guitarist
Cally Cole (she/her) is a Minnesota native now based in New Orleans and the lead singer of The Cosmos. With roots in folk and Americana, she spent 17 years playing classical flute and grew up scribbling songs in notebooks, singing alongside her sister, and listening to her father play his original music. In her early twenties she performed for four years in a Motown/soft rock cover band in Duluth, Minnesota called Laura Velvet & The Bookhouse Boys. Cally studied classical opera and flute in school but has always found her truest creative refuge in songwriting with just a guitar. A lover of rich harmonies and heart-sweeping melodies, she blends technical training with emotional storytelling.
In 2023, she released her EP About Time, created with her friend Josh Starkman and partner Albert Allenback. Since then, her music has taken on a more raw and intimate quality, embracing stream-of-consciousness storytelling inspired by childhood memories, mental health journeys, and the ongoing search to make sense of pain, confusion, love, and joy. At the heart of her work is a simple intention: to offer listeners a soft place to land and permission to feel deeply. She believes tears are good for the soul and connection is good for the heart.
In August 2025, Cally Cole & The Cosmos was born. After primarily performing solo, she was encouraged by her friend Molly to start a band and now they are building the plane as they fly it, even booking their first show before the full band was formed. The mission is simple: to center female and queer artists while working together to pull these heartfelt songs into a new dimension.
MOLLY GRAHAM
Violinist & Music Director
Molly Graham was born in the greater New Orleans area and is the sixth of seven children. She studied classical instrumental music at NOCCA before earning a degree in Mass Communication from LSU. She serves as assistant tour manager for The Revivalists and as assistant tour manager and stage manager for Trombone Shorty. In addition to her touring work, she books talent throughout the city and works locally in production management.
When she is not managing, Molly can often be found sitting in with musicians both in and outside of New Orleans, including Maggie Koerner, Pete Murano, Alvin Ford Jr., The Soul Rebels, Trombone Shorty, Neutral Snap, and Leah Blevins. She also performs as Frenchmen Street Productions’ “Towering Violinist,” playing her violin nearly 15 feet in the air—a true tall order. Molly has accepted a role in a musical at Le Petit Theatre, marking her musical theater debut. Bringing music to vulnerable communities is a cause she deeply values. She volunteers at Lambeth House, where she plays violin for hospice patients.
In July 2025, she co-founded Cally Cole & The Cosmos with Cally Cole, stepping into the role of band director for the project. The two are not only strong business partners but also close friends, and they are especially grateful for the women in their group.
JEMILA DUNHAM
Bass Guitar
A born and raised New Orleanian, Jemila began her relationship with music at a very early age. First introduced to the art form through the violin, she later moved to the alto saxophone and eventually found her way to the bass guitar and began studying year-round with prominent musicians in New Orleans, including Brian Quezergue, Kent Jordan, Jonathan Bloom, Germaine Bazzle, Donald Harrison Jr., Christian Scott, Jesse McBride, and the late Edward “Kidd” Jordan. After studying with many of the best jazz musicians in the city, she continued her education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and, in addition to performing and recording frequently on and off campus, she began to learn about and engage in more aspects of the industry, including music production and songwriting.
After graduating with a BFA in professional music in 2013, Jemila moved to New York to continue her journey playing with rising pop star and fellow Berklee alum Betty Who. Since finishing at Berklee, Jemila has traveled the world as Betty’s bassist, performing at various festivals, on 9 headlining tours, and as direct support for the Australian legs of both Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue’s world tours. Now happily based back home, Jemila is the bassist for New Orleans-based artists Water Seed, Kristin Diable, Jaime Woods, Jenna McSwain, Cally Cole & the Cosmos, and Kr3wcial, and has performed at the iconic Jazz and Heritage and French Quarter Festivals on multiple occasions. She currently works between tours and local gigs as an organizer and bass instructor for Girls Rock New Orleans.
KATE CHOPIN
Lead Guitarist & Background Vocalist
Kate was born and raised in New Orleans, where music has always been a central part of her life. She began playing guitar at just six years old, and her passion for music has continued to grow ever since. Over the years, she taught herself piano by ear and expanded her skills to include melodica, harmonica, mandolin, bass, and cajon.
She graduated from LSU with a degree in marketing and now works remotely as an SEO strategist for a digital marketing firm based in Baton Rouge. In her role, she focuses on supporting prominent nationwide immigration and personal injury law firms.
Alongside her professional career, Kate enjoys collaborating with a variety of musicians throughout Baton Rouge and New Orleans. In recent years, she has devoted more time to developing her own music through writing, recording, and producing. She has had the honor of performing at the Ozone Songwriting Festival multiple times and is currently working on her first solo project. When she’s not making music, she enjoys hiking, spending time with family, traveling, tinkering with creative projects, recording other artists in her home studio, and experimenting with new sounds.
ROSE CANGELOSI
Percussionist
Rose’s love of music began at an early age, when she was experimentally tinkering on the family piano and singing along to her parents’ records. At age 11 she started playing drums. Her first teachers—Allen Goodman and Tim Metz—inspired her to pursue a musical path heavily influenced by jazz. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Jazz Studies and Drum Set Performance from CSUS, Rose took the money she had saved teaching drum lessons and embarked on a musical pilgrimage from her delta of origin to the Mississippi Delta—namely, New Orleans. Since her arrival in 2015, she has become one of the city’s in-demand freelance drummers, and has performed in groups varying from traditional and modern jazz to country, folk, rock, blues, brass band, pop and contemporary styles of music.
Rose has frequented Jazz Fest and French Quarter Festival with Sarah Quintana, Conor Donohue, the RamBull Rompers, Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Review, and Ever More Nest. She has accompanied many other beloved local artists including the likes of Meschiya Lake, Lynn Drury, Tasche De La Rocha, John Hatchett, Todd Day Wait, and many more. Rose tours nationally and internationally, most recently with Margo Cilker since spring of 2024. She has accompanied Margo across the US on NPR’s Mountain Stage, and festivals including Red Wing Roots, Ogden Music Fest, Green River Festival, American Music Festival, Live Oak Music Fest, and Old Salt Festival. She appears as the drummer and backing vocalist on Sarah Quintana’s 2025 album, Baby Don’t; as the drummer, vocalist, and songwriter on Gal Holiday's 2018 Best of the Beat Award–winning album, Lost and Found; and on her own bands’ self titled debut Fantasy Non Fiction, May 8, 2020, which made the NACC Top 200 Albums of the Year.
Rose currently drum-techs for the New Orleans legend, Johny Vidacovich, at his weekly Maple Leaf shows. Recognizing that there is no limit to musical excellence and exploration, she constantly pursues mastery of her instrument and artistic expression with dedicated practice.
